i can't wait to try them out. As for the flange, the carb has the 2-bolt pattern for the air filters. Attached is an adapter plate that has the 3-bolt air filter pattern, but with 3 studs coming out of it. The same pattern as the newer SU's. I guess datsun wanted to adapt different carbs to work with the same air filter housing. No biggie 2 screws to remove and it's a direct fit for my old air filters.
