FWIW, those are REAL good prices! My german Hella lights were $500+ 700 1991

when I bought them in Hamburg several years ago. I used 1990 760 headlights because they had separate H1 high beams and foglights integrated in the setup. They required new corner lights.

The 760 lights are much wider than the stock 740 even with the trim removed (you also need new trim, goes under the headlights to fill between headlight and bumper) and so I needed the 760 grille and brackets (same as US spec.). The mounting bolts for the brackets and the headlights had to be exchanged inside to outside..the ouside bolts are now about and inch and a half long. You'll understand when you remove the existing brackets.

Also, the 740 hood has a wider hump in it than the 760 grille; it's not really noticeable unless you know what you're looking for or are one of those people who can look at something and feel it's wrong (well, I can...I've just learned to ignore it on this car because the lights are so freaking great!).

All in all, you may choose to keep the stock 740 Euro lights rather than upgrade to 760. BTW, the 760 grille is about $300 new US and the brackets are maybe $50 total.

email me at john.binford@osd.mil and I can send you pics/website URL with pics of the 90 740 w/90 760 headlights/grille.
