Lubing seat belt re-coil tensioner.... 900

my front pass. side seat belt has been getting slower and slower to the point it has to fed by hand to pull it in.
can the re-coil ends be lubed to have it pull the belt in?i know the S.I.P.S system has a charge to lock the belt in the event of collision.
i've lubed the belt tensioners in my old 240's and my old bimmer for slow and weak retraction so i know how the assy works.
thanks for suggestions,dave
