You should be able to read your own codes 700 1989

In your '89 you should have the OBD code readout box. It is an approx 2x2x3 inch black cube located almost in the extreme far right corner of the engine compartment as you stand in front of the car.

Read the FAQ under Features above. Under the heading Engine: OBD diagnostic codes you will learn how to get that box to tell you why the car tuned on your check engine light (and how to turn it off once things are fixed).

You probably have the LH 2.4 system, but if you have Regina, some of the codes are different. Identification of which system you have is in the FAQ also along with just about anything you would want to know about your brick.
