Fuel Pump Info 200 1982

Hello,

My 82 (120k) K-Jet's fuel pump started making noise today. The first thing I did was to check the in-tank pump. When I pulled the fuse for the tank pump the car stalled (half tank+). This leads me to belive that the pump is working and the main pump is a little weak. Both pumps are oringinal and where scheduled for a change this fall. The car runs great at any tank level, but the pump just started to make sick sounds. The filter has only 5k miles on it. Is the pump in it's death throws.
Thanks.

Mario

By the way this is the pump that I posted about that sings when it is warm.
