Turning the headlights on kills everything! Whaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaat? 200

Hello there. On an 86 244 w/ 150K, turning the headlight switch to the running lights illuminates all the correct lights. Brake lights work fine, taillights work well, but when I turn the headlight switch to headlights, everything goes off. I checked the relay under driver's feet and it looks a little bit burned. Is this the relay, or more likely the switch? Thanks to all who reply, I do appreciate your help.
