Wanted: Switch to wire garage door opener 200

I am going to hardwire in a 12 volt garage door opener (since my son has a habit of playing and losing the sunvisor mounted remote). I have bought a spare remote and am about to do the install.

Looking for suggestions on how to mount. I'm going to wire in to 12 volts for power and have identified the switch pins by shorting them. Now need to just decide on the switching method. Some people seem to wire into the high beams so you can flash the lights to open the garage door, others install a dedicated switch. The remote I have needs a two second push to activate. So:

1) if I were to go with the high beam approach, where should I tap in ?

2) if i went with a dedicated switch, where if the best/most economical place to buy a simple switch that will blend in with the others ? Again any wirin advice?

3) Are there other ways I could do this?

I'm very handy but not an electrical expert so simple advice or detailed instructions appreciated

Thanks, Paul
