Steering Binding on 1985 240DL will not return properly 200 1985

Hope someone can help me - my 1985 240 DL has been sitting in the driveway for several months now and when I took it out before my steering seems to be binding. It is not returning properly - I could take my habd off the steering wheel on a turn and it would go in cirles by itself if I let it. If it has to be bleed could you please tell me how to do that. Does the car have to be running? Should the front of the car be in the air with the wheels dangling? Appreciate any help you can give me.
