backfiring 1985 740gle 8 valve 220K 700 1985

Gents I just got over a flooding (water)stall issue and replaced rotor, distrib cap, wires and air filter.I finally got the firing order correct as well.
She now fires right up and idles at 1000 rpm ( same as before ) only now I hear back fires. I feel noticeable shudders when accelerating slowly between 1250 & 1900 rpm and then she smooths out. When I let my foot off the gas as if shifting (m46 wod )I hear tinny back fires. like about 1 to 3 din din din and pup pup pups.
I visually checked vaccum hoses and all seam connected.

I am going to replace plugs as well but what else could it be?

Puzzled
