Shift Lock 200

Is there a way to disable the shift lockout feature on my 1991 Volvo 240? When I depress the brake, the car will not shift out of park unless I move the manual switch inside of the shifter. I cannot figure out how to fix this item and I am moving my car into a valet garage in NYC. The paking attendant will never figure out how to get my car into gear. If there is no way to repair this, is there a way to totally disable it? Thanks alot for the help.

Rob
