740 16V base timing 700 1990

I'm officially a member of the broken timimg belt club. Well it's up and running better than ever,I must say. While cleaning the 14 years of gaak from every which place, the plastic keys that fit into the dist. mounting slots crumbled at the touch.I remounted the dist. (via inspection mirror) to the bolt turning trace marks left on the housing. This is close,I know but my good old Chiltons justs states timimg is not adjustable. I did not find a base ignition time setting. Starting is a little more laboured, like a weaker battery but that could be the better sealing of 16 new valves and a fresh 3 angle valve job, a a tich more compession....
Any other reference out there so I can use my dusty old timimg light once again?
