Allstate’s independent insurance adjuster rolled up in his Crown Vic former police cruser and checked out the damage. At a quick second glance determined that the car was not backed into a pole. My son’s arm pits are spared. This guy was sharp and pointed out some of the “crime scene” damage made by pushing back the trunk lid. On his cell phone, within seconds had a price and a quote number for a used trunk lid for $288. He disallowed the lights because used boot lids come with the lights, but did allow a new bumper cover.

He is cutting a check for around $1500 will “work with” any of the body shops I mentioned. Without time and energy I am leaning toward the body shop. Hey, I learnt body work on one of the greatest automotive mistakes made, a Chevy Vega.

Summery, they won't let you get rich off using your own labor. Good news, no ins rate increase.
