1990 760 TURBO SUNROOF MOTOR?

My 1990 760 turbo sunroof works, partially. It will go back fine, but getting it to close is luck of the draw. Does this mean the motor has failed or is it another component? I want to convert it to manual but cannot find the parts and am unsure of what parts will work exactly and what not, i simply want a cheap way to enjoy my sunroof.
Thanks for any suggestions, opinions, words of advice, so on and so forth
