revolutionary scrapes 900 1991

afternoon all,

the symptoms:
metallic-like scraping sounds corresponding directly to the revolutions made by the rear axle. seems to be coming from the driver-side rear wheel.

so far:
it's been going on for a few weeks. had the rear wheel off a couple weekends ago, replacing shocks and springs and didn't see anything unusual, though i will check again tomorrow.

possible solutions/question:
could it be lack of proper pad greasing?

any comments are much appreciated.
