84 245 probably has a bad wiring harness underneath the hood. Once the insulation breaks up on the wirning harness you get all sorts of problems. Check at the back of the engine on the firewall for a grey-square like connector. Look at the wires carefully and see if the insulation is crumbling apart. Remember that if you can see the crubling insultion by the connector that there is more bad insulation in the wiring harness that y0ou can not see since it disappears under the intake manifold.
