ANTI-KNOCK SENSOR LOCATION 700 1990

Hello Bricks

Just so I'm clear.

Where is the location of the anti-knock sensor. I've been told it's at the front of the engine behind the pulley. I can see on my 1990 745ti wagon a wire directly behind the pulley that leads to a sensor screwed into the block. It looks like an oil pressure sending unit etc. Is this my anti-knock sensor.

And if it is, what if the wires leading to the sensor are exposed or cut in some way, does purchasing a new sensor include the wires? Probably not, so what are your ideas in "splicing" the wire back together.

Thanks Brickboard, you guys have been a tremendous source of help in the past!
