A Question of Altitude

OK Its the '80 245 with K-JET...
this car drives great at 6, 7, 8, 9000 feet but never seems to do well when I head east out of the mountains. Ive only owned the car a few years - but I bought it in Jackson, Wyoming elevation something like 7000 feet.....so, im not sure if it was adjusted to work at a higher elevation or what.
now im at about sea level.
ive read that you turn the air/fuel mix about 35 degrees counterlockwise for every 3300ft. gain in elevation to lean it out
and my CPR doesnt have altitude compensation...
Does anyone know the exact procedure for compensating for altitude for this type of fuel injection? Something must be done with the timing also?

thanks in advance-------

NOAH
