electical problems, who turned off the lights? 200

My 1989 240 wagon has quite a few wiring problems. The R headlamp is out (but not on high beams), both dome lamps, the rear wiper, the light that illuminates the thing that shows you which gear your in... they're all out of commission.
And the stereo, the speakers go in and out- i'm going to replace that entirely.
I don't know much about electrical systems and I don't want to get robbed, but it's time to get some of this fixed.
any suggestions?
