Is it okay to replace R12 with Freeze 10 or should I use R134a? 200 1985

I replaced the evaporator and the compressor. The compressor has been filled with PAG refrigerant oil compatible with R134a. According to two mechanics, Freeze 12 is better because it operates much like the R12 and is an acceptable EPA replacement for R12. The R134a operates at much higher pressure and in older cars is more likely to leak. Does anyone have any suggestion?
