After Tune Up Engine Coughs Out And Dies. What Did I Do& How To Fix? 200 1988

Ok, while trying to sort out how to get the fuel pressure out of the line I decided to change the spark plugs, wires, distributer cap and rotor. I changed these items and went to start the car. The engine coughs and jumps; then it dies. What did I do? I checked all the vacum lines but cannot see any off. I have taken the cap and rotor off to see if something might be wrong there. I see the roto can only go on in one direction and I had it right. The wires to the plugs are in the right places. What did I do wrong and how do I fix it? HELP!
