Possible ignition switch failure. 900

Hello

I have a '91 945T with 206K, I bought it about 8K miles, 5 moths ago. About 1 month ago, it started acting up. At first, it would turn the engine over, but briefly, then it would stop turning just before it would start. I would nudge the gear lever and it would start. At first I thought the gear/park sensor in the gear lever was going bad, but then, I realized that if I just shifted the pressure on the ignition switch, it would start right up. I think the gear sensor needs to be replaced anyhow. Now, the car will not start no matter how I move the ignition switch or the gear lever. If I hook up a remote start switch to the ground side on the starter and press the button(on the remote starter), it will start right up. How accurate do you think my diagnosis is? Is it possible to replace only the electrical portion of the switch, or is the whole thing a single piece? How much of a pain will it be to replace? Any advice you might give will be greatly appreciated!
