Newly retrofitted R134a system not cooling....can't figure out...please HELP!! 200 1986

New compressor. New evaporator. (and of course new blower motor and resistor). New expansion valve. Me and my dad were excited about seeing the ol' 240 cooling again!! The AC tech flushed the system and then drew a vacuum. Everything was excellent. Tight and clean. However, after charging the system with R134a, the darn system won't cool. It's not cooling like it should at all...(you can't run it with the windows rolled up and not sweat). The AC tech was questioning me about what the new evaporator core was made out of..was it a different material than the original?? I bought it from NAPA...the thing fit perfectly. This doesn't make sense!! We've come so close to having this thing fixed...we're both confused!! When putting in the new compressor, I drained the compressor of the packing oil and then poured in 8 oz of the PAG refrigerant oil for 134a system. Did I put in too much? Wouldn't the system not work if there was too much oil in it? Also...the pipes going into the evaporator weren't cool like you'd think they should be...so I was thinking that the new expansion valve was messed up..but the AC tech said that wasn't likely based on the system pressure readings that he was getting. Somebody gimme somewhere to go with this thing.
Trying to keep my Dad cool,
