Hi,the AIC is operated by 12v pulses the wider the pulse the more the valve opens.You really need a 'scope to see the ECU control signal,I use a handheld digital 'scope.
It will open fully on about 6v DC (from a battery charger)A test will at least show the coil is not open and mechanically working.

Dont connect to 12v for more than a quick flick as it may blast the coil.
