Diesel Special Tools 700

Hi:

Does anyone know where I can purchase the Volvo Tool #5187-3? It's the wrench that holds the Vibration Damper in place when you are loosening/tightening the center bolt with that unbelievable torque?

I also need 5199-8. It's the holder for the front and rear camshft gears.

I made these, but they are crude. They work, but I'd rather use the proper tools for such critcal operations.

I was able to get 5188 (The socket & Extension Bar) from Volvo but they said their sources dried up for the others. I have everything else.

I just purchased a low mileage, hard starting 1986 that was 2 seconds from self destruction. Someone recently replaced the Timing Belts and didn't properly tighten the center bolt. On closer examination, I found the key on the crank gear sheared and ready to slip. It was hanging on by a thread. I was able to get the bolt off with just a Socket wrench. It's a good thing I towed the car home.

Replaced the gear, used locktite and torqued to the proper value. Set the timing & checked the Injectors. Starts & Runs pretty good now. Speak of "Luck of the Irish!!".

I wonder how many of these were destroyed by people who don't know how to work on them. You Diesel experts know how important the special tools are. I'm finding out real fast.
