I have a general questiong about fuel pressure:

If one finds that there is high fuel pressure, is there anything besides the Fuel pressure regulator going bad that would cause the pressure to be too high?

As I understood it the pumps deliver constant pressure and the Feul Pressure Regulator adjusts the pressure in the line for the injectors. Is this correct?

I don't have a pressure gauge so and I am having a rich running problem. I have unhooked the return fuel line and found there to be a stream or steady fuel. Running the engine with the return line going to a gas can did not change the rich running problem (a checke in the case the returen fuel line was blocked) Is it possible for fuel pumps to deliver too much pressure?
