What brand of brake pads should I use? Please help... 200 1988

I need to do a front and rear brake job on our 16 year old son's '88 244GL. I plan to use ATE rotors because I've had good luck with them in the past. Brake pads are a different matter. The forum seems to be all over the map about pads depending upon how much folks want to spend and how hard they drive their cars. I wonder if there is a consensus choice for our needs.

I want pads for everyday, commuter-type driving; pads that stop true without generating noise or a lot of dust. I don't mind paying a little more for for extra quality.

Any suggestions? Thanks!

Glen
