LEDs as third brake light 120-130

Guys;

I've just returned from vaca and I'm pretty busy catching up, but I still could'nt resist chiming in on this one...

The additional visibility an LED brake light will give is certainly a good thing, but why not just locate it on the rear "hat-shelf" pointing out the bottom of the rear window, protected from the elements and were flexy wiring along the hinge is not required! I've done this with decent results. If you do decide on a flex-link, just protect the wire in a sleeve.

...the important thing, before considering brake light upgrades, is to make sure your brake lights are working AT ALL, and that the hydraulic brake light switch hasn't joined (most of) it's compatriots in the happy hunting ground. I always recommend upgrading to the mechanical switch.

Cheers
