tips on trunk struts replacement.?Thanks 700 1990

from the volvo site below the 240(may require special tool) is different from a 740(less complicated)
740 760 Sedan Trunk Lifter Replacement

Support the trunk lid to keep it open, have an assistant or use a broom handle.
Remove the spring clip on the hinge side shown on the picture. Pry open with a flat head screwdriver if required, then slide off. Keep the clip, the replacement may not include it.
Detach the rear end of the strut from the car, it is a hook that snaps in place, it will come off with a small upward blow.
Put the new part in the reverse order.
