strut and shock replacement 700

I'm about to work on a Volvo for the first time doing front and rear shocks. and I'm getting a clunking noise from the rear. I'm going to do the shocks anyway and hope that solves the noise issue. Is there any other common problem that this might be ? It's a '95 850 wagon with 140k on it. Should I just go ahead and get the strut mounts as well for the front ? Don't know if this is a high wear item on the Volvos. Any shock mounts for the back ? I know that caused the same type of noise on my BMW. Thanks !

Bob
