Carbs for you, eh? 140-160 1975

Just pointing out that MS isn't for everyone...

I've been comfortable working on Bosch FI for years -- D-jet, L-jet, LH-jet -- but I found aftermarket systems scary. Although the designer of my MPPE motor lobbied for EMS, or at least EFI, when we were planning it, I opted for Weber carbs instead, thinking that would be less expensive and simpler to tune.

Wrong! 18 months after first start-up, around $2500 in hard parts, and I don't want to know how many hours of work later, I'm now off to the garage to yank those puppies off the manifolds and do a few more minor mods to 'em.

Next motor I build for myself will have some sort of modern injection, I promise myself. But hey, now I know a bunch about Weber sidedrafts...
