740T – Turbo removal question 700 1987

I am replacing the Mitsubishi TD05 turbo in my sons’ 1987 744T.

I have hit a snag – I am unable to disconnect the oil return line. I followed the guidelines found in Chiltons, but the instructions regarding this one line are a bit terse. Have already unbolted the exhaust manifold as well as all other connections.

Does this oil return line, which is connected to the bottom of the turbo, disconnect at the turbo or at the oil pan? Thanks in advance.
