NOTE FOR THOSE WHO MAY BE ABLE TO HELP 700 1991

To others who read this :

I went and looked at this car but did not have time to finish tracing the problem. The following observations may help others to diagnose problem but without using a voltmeter at this time it will be difficult if not imposssible.

1. Jumping fuel pump side of main relay will run pump. If you run pump for a few seconds and get some pressure in line and replace relay, car will start and run for a few seconds.(I replaced relay with one from my car and there was no difference. I did solder her relays while I was there)

2. Turning key to position II you can see/hear the main side relay activate.
3. When she turns key to position III for cranking the fuel side relay does not energize and subsequently the car will not start. All fuses are visually good.

4. Tach moves when cranking, resoldered and swaped radio suppression and fan relays.

I found the following in the archives and it looks like a good place to start.

2. Key ON III (cranking) > Fuel Relay energizes> with

Hope this will help everyone. Dara is a very nice person and unfortunatly I'm going out of town and can't further assist her at this time, but look forward to checking on her when I get back.
