Has anyone used the IPD Spark Plug Thread Repair Kit? 200 1987

Picked up an '87 240 a week ago and giving it it's first tune-up under my care. As I got to the plugs only one feels like it should. 2 felt like they where only in hand tight and 1 wasn't much tighter. None of those the 3 cylinders let me install new plugs very tight. In searching the forums looks like not uncommon that the holes get striped. Personally I'm concerns that at the worse time one of the plugs will blow out and leave me stranded.

So I'm wondering, has anyone used the IPD Spark Plug Thread Repair Kit? If so how easy or hard was it to use? Or am I just being overly worried and as long as there is some threads left things will be OK?

Any advice or opinion would be great - thanks

Ken
