Water pump leak - sigh 200 1993

Well it just does not seem to be my day/month/year.

It appears that my water pump is leaking. It's enough of a leak that it leaves a puddle under the car every time you turn it off.

I've been chasing this down since April and it finally got bad enough to become obvious to even a blind chicken. In previous months I just had a mysterious disappearing coolant problem. I found a loose hose clamp and thought it was that, but it appears there was more.

The pump is about 4 years old/51K. Naturally this happens after I did the timing belt job back in December. I did the timing job a second time after my cam gear mismatch issue when installing the IPD Adjustable Cam gear...but that's another story.

I had put in Low tox Amsoil coolant back in December. Ya think this could be part of cause, or it just let loose on its own accord? I used the Amsoil stuff because I make such a mess when changing the coolant and was just trying to be more ecologically gental. Or maybe its the 104 degree temperatures here. It get so hot under the hood you almost can't stand it when you open the hood.

Not having a good day.

-Ted
