740 TURBO AUTOMATIC - INSTRUMENT CLUSTER PROBLEMS 700

Further to my post of a few days ago...
After fixing Turbo vacuum hose leak behind instrument cluster..and then re-installing the cluster, find that voltmeter, fuel gauge, speedo and rev counter do not work.. initially alternator not charging indicator light off and voltage at the battery ~ 12.2 (same as with engine off).. indicating alternator not charging. Then sometimes alternator indicator light comes and then voltage at battery the normal expected 13.8 volts to indicate that alternator charging okay. Have had alternator and battery and checked and all okay. When driving along when the alternator failure indicator light happens to be on and if the shift button is activated, ie, button depressed on automative shifter, then rev counter and speedo come back and fuel gauge blips a little to the right. Had no electrical problems until I fixed the vacuum leak, therefore, conclude that I must have disturbed something on the instrument cluster. Note, I have checked all connectors at the cluster and all seem okay.. (Note, when I initially removed the cluster only had to dis-connect the 7 pin connector).
Does anyone know if there are some in-line fuses that are hidden from view?, or have had any similar experiances and weird symptoms??.
This is driving me crazy...any help to solve appreciated
Thanx Peter Burville
