Considering an 87 Mercedes 230E, can Volvo match this car? 200 1978

I don't know if this is the done thing on this site but anyway...
I've got the opportunity to pick up a 1987 230E Mercedes at what seems to be a very good price. Considering it's done 270,000 kilometres it looks very good and has obviously been well looked after.
For comparison, what's the Volvo equivalent of this model Mercedes?
Anyone got any opinion on Mercedes and this model? Is 270,000 k's too much?
