Thank you. 900

Last thursday I was driving my 1992 965 in a traffic jam in hot weather. Suddenly, one cylinder stopped working. I managed to get my car to my parents about 20km further. I swapped the spark plugs, but had no result. I checked the wiring but couldn't see any damage. Because I have separate LPi-injectors, and the symptoms were exactly the same when running on LPi or unleaded fuel, it couldn't be the injectors. So I was pretty scared that it could be a damaged valve, or something else inside the engine.

So I left the car at a Volvo-mechanic and when I finally got home, I immediately searched the Brickboard for possible causes. This calmed me down, because I read most of the time these problems have to do with wiring and electronics. The most possible cause is a failing power stage. Today, my Volvo-mechanic confirmed one power stage is failing. It would still cost me about 300 euros, but the rest of the engine is still OK and ready for another 300.000km.

Just to thank you guys for putting my mind at ease this weekend. :)
