How do I hook up the AC switch so that the compressor comes on? 200 1986

Does anyone have a clue as to how the little blue/red knob switch is supposed to be hooked up? My '86 doesn't engage the compressor when you turn the switch on...of course I've charged system w/ R134A after fully flushing and vacuuming. We've hooked up a rig switch to make the compressor come on...and it does fine, but I think that perhaps when I replaced the blower motor...I may have not hooked something back up right on the AC switch.
