What bonehead things have you done? 444-544

I thought after reading all the posts to this topic that my bonehead error would have been covered, but I guess not. How about installing one of the B18 pancake air cleaners backward so the air inlet holes are facing out? Not me, but an old friend of mine, mechanically challenged, managed to do this to his B16 544.

The one I did was similar; after finishing the restoration of my 445 with a B18, I restarted the engine after a long time of inactivity. Started right up, but didn't idle very well. Turned out that I forgot to remove the duct tape from one of the carburetor intakes that I'd installed to keep the dirt out of the engine during the restore.
