resoldering instrument cluster circuit board 900

Just after I posted a final report on resolving my instrument cluster issues, the warning lights started misbehaving again. Since so many mentioned finding faulty solder connections on the plastic circuit board, I figure it's time to resolder mine. So, I'm looking for advice from those who've done this:

- I'm concerned about damaging/overheating the plastic that the circuit is printed on
- Any precautions to avoid damage to the resistors that are soldered to the board - and are likely what needs to be resoldered

Any help much appreciated.
