Coney Island Starts 444-544

Stock '63 544

When starting from a complete stop the car will judder/shudder if more than a minimal amount of throttle is opened. A smooth start can be accomplished by keeping right foot in check.

Accelleration is smooth and healthy through the remaining gears from just above idle to WOT. After the car is rolling in 1st gear the throttle can be opened up without shuddering.

Engine mounts are fairly new and the tranny donut looks okay but I don't know what it would look like if it was shot.

What might be the most likely cause of the amusement park starts?

Thanks,

Joe M in WV
