84 B23f exhaust 200

I now have a leak in my exhaust system where the dual pipe from the manifold joins again before the cat. I imagine having it welded is a very temporary fix, if at all. It doesn't appear to be something to have a muffler shop fabricate. Is this a normal problem? Is the correct part expensive?
The car has 145k miles and is solid otherwise, but I have to say that it started it's US life in New England though it now lives in Georgia.
Dreaded rust belt......
Thanks,
Mark
PS. I'll bother you later on turn signals quitting intermittantly......
