driveline noise 200 1976

Help! I've got a rear end thumping noise--can't quite figure it out. Some vitals: I've changed all the u-joints (and they turn nicely), and I've replaced an output bushing in the auto. trans. (BW 55) So, the noise is definitely there at 50mph, sometimes earlier. It is mostly a coasting noise (in drive), but I can hear it even when braking gradually. It is slighty more pronounced on a right hand turn (yes, I'm thinking rear axle bearing), but is also noticeable straight on. IT IS ABSOLUTELY NOT THERE WHEN I COAST IN NEUTRAL, EVEN AT 70 MPH!!

I know there is a bit of wobble in the driveshaft, but it does not seem bad. The center support bearing and rubber donut seem fine.

Any guesses or further tests?
Thanks,
Tom in Charlottesville
