Engine swaps and other thoughts. 200 1977

The Trans aint that bad, I just have to keep one hand on it all time on the highway cos it jumps out of 4th. Since I only ever use 4th gear in a straight line (or gentle curve) steering one handed isn't a problem.

It would be nice to be able to change the radio station or operate the turn signals without my car jumping out of gear. Right hand drive means left handed gear shift, but the turn signals are still on the left of the collum. This is my only real complaint. The synchro on second isn't the best, but gets me around town.

Yes you're quite right, I would love overdrive. My first 240 (well actually my parents) had an M46 hooked up to a B23E and it was a great car to cruise in. But as Daz pointed out, I wouldn't feel so attached to the car if I didn't have the original motor and gearbox. I'll make this car a resto project, and modify the next one.
