overheating when lights on; fixed 200

Posted a week or two about my 86 245. It registered overheating as soon as the headlights were turned on. Inititially only the headlights, but later seemed also to involve the parking lights.
Although the instrument panel has some other erratic behavior, cleaning the contacts on the voltage stabilizer seems to have cured this problem.
Wow! I can drive at night again!
Now if I can just get the tach to work...
