High beam wiring problem 200 1988

56b has two gray wires - one is thicker and other thinner. Thinner one goes to cabin, supposedly to light switch, but problem is to find out, where thicker one is supposed to go.

The diagrams show only one wire at stepper 56b (to BFS), and I can't think of a reason for another. Afraid I'm no help there.

But the Diagrams _do_ show a second (Blue/white) wire at the BFS end of the Gray one. It was meant to power Fuse 14 for Fog light switch when Low beams are on.. Maybe it got wired in at the other end (stepper) for some reason?

56a is now directly connected to both high beams.

Don't understand the "is now...". What you describe is the normal wiring for Highs, as I said in previous response.
