123GT LSD questions? 120-130

Hi All,

I have recently come by a '67 123GT, from what I read on the internet these came with an LSD. It is definately the original diff in there as it has only done 160,000miles and I bought it off the original owner. But after checking it today I don't think it is an LSD.

The way I checked was to put the car on a hoist and spin one of the rear wheels foward, if it is LSD then the other wheel should spin foward too if it is an open diff the other wheel should spin in the opposite direction. Well the other wheel spun in the opposite direction so I take it this is not an LSD diff.

Here are my questions:
1. Is my method for checking for an LSD ok? (if not what is the best way, and I would prefer not to take the diff cover off at the moment)

2. Were all '67 123GT's equiped with LSD as I thought or only in certain markets (my 123GT was Australian delivered)?

Cheers,

Daz
