240 warm engine start up problem. help! 200 1991

your problem is in the throttle body. clean the throttle body first, then check your base idle. this can be done by backing off the throttle position sensor and starting the car. your base idle, with the sensor disconnected, should be @ 800 rpm. you may have to mechanically adjust the idle set screw to achieve this. make sure you realign the tp sensor after the base idle is set so that an audible click can be heard when moving the throttle just off of idle. very common problem with 89 and newer 240's
