'91 940 engine trouble

The 12 volts comes from the battery straight through a relay to the coil. On the wiring diagram I have there is a red wired going to the relay from the battery and then the color of the wire changes to green then to blue going to the coil.

Red -white wire coming off the coil and goes to the power stage and the blue and green wires from the power stage go to different connections (green to 16 and blue to 6) on the control unit for the ignition system.
