Seat foam reinforcement - What fabric? What adhesive? 200

Has anyone reinforced seat foam with fabric in the manner demonstrated by Tony Hoffman at Erling's 240 page? Scroll to the bottom of the page.
The article suggests using 3M 77 to adhere the fabric. I got to looking around for info on the product and I came across more than one message board where it is stated that the formula for this stuff has changed and the new formula eats foam. But these boards were for airplane modelers and kite builders and I'm not sure what type of foam they are talking about. I'm also not sure what type of foam is used in the Volvo seats. Will the current formula work with Volvo seat foam?
Also I wonder about what fabric to use. Tony's article doesn't say. probably I should contact him. But I'm betting some here have done this. If so, what did you use?
